Security Consulting for Hotels, Resorts and Offices

Security consulting is for businesses that want to run their own security program. We write risk assessment protocols and operating procedures, help you hire qualified officers onto your own payroll, and support the daily operation.

Security consulting with a hospitality mindset

Some hotels, resorts and office buildings prefer to keep security in house. They want officers on their own payroll, wearing their own uniform and reporting to their own managers. That can work very well, as long as the program behind those officers is solid.

VWF helps you build that program. Our management team brings more than 30 years of experience in hospitality security. We know how a lobby should feel at check-in, how a night shift should hand over to the morning, and what a good officer does when a guest is upset at the front desk. We put that knowledge into protocols, procedures and hiring standards your team can use every day.

Our consulting follows the VWF style. Security should feel like service. Procedures should help officers greet people, solve problems and keep things calm, and they should be written so a new hire can follow them on the first shift.

Who security consulting fits

You do not need to be a large property to benefit. A boutique hotel with a handful of officers on its payroll gains as much from written procedures as a large resort, and often feels the difference faster.

  • Hotels and resorts with an in-house security department that needs clear procedures
  • Commercial office buildings that want lobby and visitor standards for their own staff
  • Event venues and conference centers that hire their own officers or front desk staff
  • New properties preparing to open and building a security team from scratch
  • Owners and managers who want a second opinion on an existing program

How our consulting process works

You may need the whole program or only one piece of it. Either way, the work follows the same order.

1. First conversation

We start with a free consultation to understand your property, your current team and what you want to improve. If you only need hiring help or a set of written procedures, we say so and keep the scope small.

2. Risk assessment

We walk the property with you and follow a structured risk assessment protocol. We look at entrances, visitor flow, parking, back-of-house areas, lighting, cameras, staffing levels and how incidents are reported today. Then we talk through what we found in plain terms.

3. Operating procedures

We write operating procedures for your business: post orders for each position, visitor and contractor check-in, guest and tenant service standards, incident reporting, shift handover, lost and found, and how to work with police and fire crews when they arrive.

4. Hiring support

If you need officers, we help you hire qualified people onto your own payroll. We help write job descriptions, set screening standards, review candidates and sit in on interviews if you wish. The officers work for you.

5. Rollout

We walk your team through the new procedures, answer their questions and adjust anything that does not work in practice. A procedure that sits in a binder helps nobody.

6. Day-to-day support

After launch, we stay available to support daily operation. Call us about a difficult incident, a staffing question or a procedure that needs updating, and we will help you work through it.

Risk assessments that people can actually use

A risk assessment is only useful if it leads to decisions. We write our findings so a general manager or an ownership group can read them in one sitting and know what to do first. Each finding comes with a practical recommendation, and we tell you which ones matter most for your property.

We also leave you with the protocol itself, so your own team can repeat the assessment as the property changes. A new restaurant, a renovated pool deck or a new tenant on the ground floor all change how people move through a building.

Hiring officers onto your own payroll

Finding good officers is hard. Our own standards for VWF officers include several years of security experience, background checks, drug screening and the ability to read, write and speak English. We help you set standards that fit your property and the law, and we review your candidates with the same care we use for our own team.

The officers you hire are your employees. You set their pay, their schedule and their uniform, whether that is a black suit and tie, a more tactical look or a mix depending on the post. We help you choose well and give them procedures that make their work clearer.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What does a security consultant do for a hotel?

A security consultant helps a hotel run its own security program well. At VWF that means walking the property with a structured risk assessment protocol, writing operating procedures such as post orders, visitor check-in and incident reporting, helping hire qualified officers onto the hotel's own payroll, and supporting the team day to day. The goal is security that feels like guest service and that new staff can follow easily.

Can VWF help us hire security officers for our own payroll?

Yes. We help you write job descriptions, set screening standards that fit your property and the law, review candidates and sit in on interviews if you wish. The officers you hire are your employees, and you set their pay, schedule and uniform. We bring the same care to reviewing your candidates that we use when choosing officers for our own team.

What is included in a security risk assessment?

We walk the property with you and look at entrances, visitor and guest flow, parking, back-of-house areas, lighting, existing cameras, staffing levels and how incidents are reported today. You receive written findings in plain language with practical recommendations, ordered by what matters most. We also leave you the protocol itself, so your own team can repeat the assessment as the property changes over time.

Does VWF offer support after the procedures are written?

Yes. Day-to-day support is part of our consulting service. After rollout, you can call us about a difficult incident, a staffing question or a procedure that no longer fits the way your property works. We help you think it through and update the documents when needed, so your program keeps up with changes at the property and in your team.

Should we hire our own officers or use VWF officers?

It depends on how much you want to manage. Hiring your own officers gives you direct control over the team, and our consulting helps you do it well. Using VWF officers means we handle recruiting, screening, scheduling and supervision for you. We will give you an honest recommendation for your property during the free consultation, and you can start with one approach and change later.

Does VWF provide security consulting outside Miami?

Yes. VWF is based in Miami and works with properties across South Florida, from Miami Beach and Brickell to Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. We also support clients anywhere in the world. Tell us where your property is and what kind of help you need, and we will explain how we would run the assessment and support your team from a distance when that makes sense.
