Two small towns on one stretch of Collins Avenue
Surfside runs north from the edge of North Beach in Miami Beach up to 96th Street. Bal Harbour Village picks up there and continues to Haulover Inlet. Both are small, both face the Atlantic, and you can walk from one to the other in minutes. Their character differs, though, and an officer who works here needs to understand both.
Bal Harbour is polished and quiet. Luxury hotels and condominium towers line the ocean side of Collins Avenue, facing the open-air Bal Harbour Shops across the street, and a gated residential section sits on the bay side. Surfside feels more like a neighborhood. Its small downtown on Harding Avenue has bakeries, cafes and family-run shops, and the blocks west of Harding are lined with houses where neighbors know each other.
Hospitality security for luxury hotels in Bal Harbour
Guests who choose Bal Harbour expect discretion. Many come for the beach and the shopping, some stay for a whole season, and many are repeat visitors who expect the staff to remember them. A hotel security officer here works like a member of the front office. They greet arriving cars, give directions to the shops across the street, watch the beach path and the pool deck, and step in quietly when something needs attention.
Privacy matters on this stretch. Our officers keep guest names to themselves, handle requests away from the lobby crowd and know when a guest simply wants space. Most Bal Harbour properties prefer our black suit and black tie, which sits comfortably beside the doormen and concierges. Garages and back-of-house posts can use a tactical presentation, and many hotels mix the two. Our hotel security services page explains how we build each post.
Surfside hotels and lobby ambassadors on a smaller scale
Surfside's hotels are fewer and smaller than the big names up the road. A handful of oceanfront properties sit on the ocean side of Collins Avenue, many with a boutique feel, a single lobby and a pool deck that opens straight onto the sand. Guests here often come for a quiet week, walk to breakfast on Harding and spend the afternoon on the beach.
In a hotel this size, one lobby ambassador does a lot of work. They welcome guests at the curb, keep an eye on the beach gate and the pool deck, help with luggage when the bell desk is short, and know which restaurant on Harding will hold a table for a family of six. When a guest needs something after midnight, they are the person who answers.
Smaller hotels also watch their budgets closely. For them we can plan coverage for the busiest shifts only, patrols at set hours, or remote video monitoring for the garage and back entrances in place of an officer every night.
Shabbat, languages and the guests who return
Surfside is home to a large Orthodox Jewish community, and many families walk to synagogue on Friday evening and Saturday. Observant guests and visitors may not use phones, key cards or electric doors on Shabbat. An officer who understands this can open a door, call up to a room or hold a package without anyone needing to ask twice. It is a small courtesy, and guests notice it.
Both towns also draw Latin American families, European visitors and winter visitors from Quebec and the Northeast. In a single day an officer may hear Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Russian, Hebrew and English. Every officer we place speaks English, and we look for a second language that matches the hotel and its guests.
The Bal Harbour and Surfside calendar
The busy months run from late fall into spring. Art Basel week in early December draws collectors and gallery visitors up Collins Avenue, and the winter holidays fill hotels, restaurants and shops. Seasonal guests return, and front desks see more luggage, more visitors and more late arrivals.
Summer brings families from Latin America on school vacation, many of them here to shop, and hotel lobbies shift from couples and collectors to children heading for the beach. Hurricane season runs from June through November, and hotels on a barrier island need a clear plan for storms, from securing pool furniture to keeping guests informed. We build that plan into the post orders.
Concierge officers for offices nearby
There is little office space inside these two towns, but the office and bank buildings along Kane Concourse in neighboring Bay Harbor Islands are only a few minutes west. A concierge security officer for commercial office buildings tracks visitors, manages after-hours access and balances the needs of tenants with building safety, with the same manners our hotel officers bring to Collins Avenue.
Event staffing management on Collins Avenue
Bal Harbour sees fashion previews, trunk shows and charity dinners, and Surfside holds community gatherings by the beach. Hotels host weddings and private dinners year round. Guests at these events expect a smooth arrival: a name found quickly on the list, a short walk from valet to room, and a familiar face for the VIPs.
We review each event individually, looking at the venue, the guest list and the timing before we recommend a team for check-in, guest flow, VIP courtesy and event security. Read more on our event staffing management page.
Hospitality staffing for luxury hotels
A Bal Harbour hotel is judged on details: the turndown, the breakfast egg cooked exactly right, the balcony door that slides without a sound. We are now accepting requests for hospitality staffing, including cooks for restaurants and in-room dining, housekeeping for long-stay suites, and maintenance engineers who know what salt air does to hinges and air handlers.
This service is new and we are building our roster now, including candidates for leadership searches. We screen these roles with the same care we use for officers, looking for people who are discreet, warm and comfortable around guests who expect a lot.
Starting with a walk down Collins Avenue
We like to see a property before we staff it.
- A site visit to learn your entrances, beach access, garage and the hours that get busy.
- A post plan covering officer positions, patrols, reporting and storm preparation.
- Officers chosen for experience, languages and the look you prefer.
- Regular check-ins with your manager as the season changes.
